Beta Terms of Use

Effective September 23, 2026

These Terms govern use of Anchor Word Bible and related Anchor Word services operated by Anchor Word Ministries, a New Hampshire religious nonprofit. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Agreement and beta status

Anchor Word Bible is currently in beta. Features, content, availability, supported devices, and workflows may change. Beta users may encounter defects, interruptions, incomplete features, or data that requires correction.

Beta status does not change Anchor Word Ministries' responsibility to operate the service consistently with applicable privacy, security, licensing, and legal obligations.

2. Eligibility

The invited mobile beta is limited to adults age 18 or older. The public website is not designed as a child-directed service. Any broader launch that intentionally supports minors will require a separate age, parental-consent, and privacy review.

3. Accounts

Users are responsible for:

  • providing accurate account information;
  • protecting their credentials and devices;
  • not allowing unauthorized use of their account;
  • notifying Anchor Word if they believe their account is compromised.

Users may not attempt to access another user's notes, prayer content, journals, goals, progress, or other private records.

4. Permitted use

Subject to these Terms and applicable resource licenses, Anchor Word is intended for personal and ministry-related Scripture reading and search, Bible study and Word Study, Bible Plans and formation, prayer and journaling, Scripture memorization, notes, highlights, bookmarks, and other discipleship resources made available through the service.

Users may not use the service to violate law, compromise security, interfere with other users, bypass technical or licensing restrictions, or redistribute protected content contrary to applicable rights.

5. User-created content

Users retain the rights they hold in content they create, such as notes, journal entries, prayer content, and original responses.

To operate the service, users authorize Anchor Word Ministries and its service providers to host, process, transmit, reproduce, and display that content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, and support the service and comply with applicable law.

Users should not upload content they do not have the right to use.

6. Scripture translations and resource rights

Scripture translations, commentaries, dictionaries, lexicons, media, and other resources may be subject to separate copyright, license, attribution, and territory terms. Users may not use Anchor Word to bypass those restrictions.

Availability of a translation or resource inside Anchor Word does not grant a separate right to redistribute that material independently of its applicable license.

7. Beta feedback and issue reports

Users may voluntarily send feedback or beta issue reports to Anchor Word. The current native beta composes a report for the user's email client; the user controls the contents before sending.

Anchor Word may use feedback to diagnose and improve the service. Users should avoid including private information unless it is necessary to explain the issue.

8. Third-party services and links

Anchor Word relies on service providers and may link to external content or services. External destinations may have their own terms and privacy practices.

The bundled native beta does not expose the website's Giving/Stripe checkout surface. If native giving is added later, the Terms, Privacy Notice, and store disclosures must be reviewed before activation.

9. Suspension, termination, and deletion

Anchor Word may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, abuse prevention, or material violation of these Terms.

Users can request account deletion through Account settings. During beta, deletion may require manual processing and remains subject to lawful retention obligations described in the Privacy Notice.

10. Service changes and availability

Anchor Word may add, change, suspend, or discontinue beta features. Scripture and resource availability may also change because of licensing, territory, provider, or technical requirements.

11. Intellectual property

Except for user-created content and third-party or public-domain materials identified by their own terms, the Anchor Word application, branding, original content, and software materials are owned by or licensed to Anchor Word Ministries.

12. Prohibited conduct

Users must not:

  • access or attempt to access another user's private records without authorization;
  • bypass authentication, authorization, licensing, or territory controls;
  • probe, attack, disrupt, or overload the service;
  • introduce malicious code;
  • impersonate another person or organization;
  • use automated extraction or scraping in violation of law, these Terms, or source-resource rights;
  • use the service for unlawful purposes.

13. Religious and educational nature

Anchor Word provides Scripture, discipleship, and ministry resources. It is not intended to provide medical, legal, financial, or other licensed professional advice.

14. Changes to the Terms

These Terms may be updated as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by a revised effective date and, where appropriate, additional notice or renewed acceptance.
