Anchor Word Ministries
Privacy Notice
Last updated September 23, 2026
Anchor Word is operated by Anchor Word Ministries, a New Hampshire religious nonprofit. This Privacy Notice explains how Anchor Word Ministries collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Anchor Word website, Anchor Word Bible mobile beta, and related Anchor Word services that link to this Notice.
1. Scope
This Notice applies to the Anchor Word website and the installed Anchor Word Bible beta application. The installed mobile beta is currently intended for invited adult testers. The public website is not designed as a child-directed service.
2. Information you provide
Depending on the features you use, you may provide:
- your email address and account/profile information;
- Bible notes, journal entries, prayer lists and prayer requests;
- Bible highlights, bookmarks, annotations, and Scripture-memory information;
- Formation Goals, Bible Plan activity, reminders, progress, and formation records;
- invitations or accountability-related information you intentionally create;
- newsletter signup information, if you choose to subscribe;
- support, beta-feedback, and account-deletion communications.
Please do not place information in notes, prayer requests, journals, or other free-text fields that you do not want stored with your Anchor Word account.
3. Information generated when you use Anchor Word
Anchor Word may process technical and functional information needed to provide the service, including:
- authentication, session, account-security, and access records;
- Bible reading history and last-reading location;
- plan, memorization, prayer, and Formation Goal state needed to provide those features;
- application/request logs and technical diagnostics used to operate and protect the service;
- device platform, app version, and build number when you choose to report a beta issue.
Website analytics
The current web application may record limited first-party product activity, such as resource views, searches, session/device type, and an authenticated account identifier when available. The Base44 web SDK may also process application analytics.
Installed mobile beta
For the bundled native beta, Anchor Word deliberately disables Base44 SDK automatic analytics and Anchor Word first-party activity analytics. The installed beta therefore does not intentionally send search terms, product-activity events, analytics session IDs, analytics device type, or analytics country information for analytics purposes.
A search term is still sent to the applicable Scripture or content service when needed to return the search results you requested. Recent-search history and favorites may also be stored locally on your device for product functionality.
4. KJV territory verification
Certain King James Version access may require a territory check because rights differ by territory. When a KJV-sensitive action requires verification, a Supabase function may use IPWhois / ipwho.is to resolve the request IP to a country and create a short-lived signed territory grant.
The current client keeps the resulting grant and country only temporarily in memory and does not intentionally persist the IP geolocation result as account history. Ordinary WEBUS and Berean Standard Bible reading and search do not require this KJV territory lookup.
5. Images and external content
Anchor Word uses third-party-hosted imagery in parts of the website and app, including Pexels and Unsplash-hosted images. Those providers may receive ordinary network-request information such as IP address, device/browser information, and the requested image URL when an image is loaded.
If you choose to open an external link, stream media, or share content through another application, the destination service may process information under its own privacy terms.
6. How Anchor Word uses information
- create, authenticate, and secure accounts;
- provide Scripture reading, study, formation, prayer, memory, notes, journal, and plan functionality;
- preserve user-created content and progress;
- operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the service;
- respond to support requests and beta feedback;
- process account-deletion requests;
- send service-related emails and ministry communications you choose to receive;
- enforce Bible translation rights and territory restrictions where required;
- prevent abuse, protect users and the service, and comply with legal obligations.
7. Service providers and sharing
Anchor Word does not sell personal information and does not use personal information for cross-context or targeted behavioral advertising.
Anchor Word may disclose information to service providers only as reasonably necessary to operate the service, including:
- Base44 — authentication, application/backend infrastructure, service email delivery, and web analytics;
- Supabase — governed public/read Scripture-study infrastructure and KJV territory verification;
- IPWhois / ipwho.is — IP-to-country resolution when a KJV-sensitive territory check is required;
- Pexels — Verse of the Day image sourcing and direct image delivery;
- Unsplash — direct delivery of certain hosted images.
The installed native beta does not currently expose Anchor Word's Stripe/giving checkout. If payment processing is activated in a future app release, this Notice and applicable store disclosures will be updated before activation.
8. Data storage and security
Anchor Word uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. Owner-private account data currently remains governed by Anchor Word's Base44 authority model and trusted command boundaries. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
9. Retention
Anchor Word retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and maintain the service, preserve an active account and requested content, maintain security and audit records, resolve support or deletion requests, and comply with legal, tax, accounting, licensing, or other obligations.
If an account is deleted, Anchor Word will delete or de-identify associated personal information that it is not required or permitted to retain. Information retained for a required purpose will be limited to that purpose.
10. Account deletion
Signed-in users can start an account-deletion request from Account settings. During the beta, deletion fulfillment may be manually reviewed by an authorized Anchor Word operator. The current processing target is 30 days.
A request may be cancelled while it remains in Requested status. Once destructive processing begins, cancellation may no longer be available. Anchor Word also provides a web deletion-request resource for users who cannot access the app.

Where required by applicable law, Anchor Word will use appropriate safeguards for cross-border processing.
13. Children's privacy
The current installed beta is intended for invited adults age 18 or older. The public website is not directed to children, and Anchor Word does not knowingly use the service to solicit personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
